What is the Home Insulation Scheme?

Cavity wall insulation

The Home Insulation Scheme is Scottish Government funded and delivered by the Energy Saving Trust.

Working in association with local authorities and community organisations, it offers energy saving measures and advice to designated areas of Scotland.

To find out how the scheme could help you, you just need to fill out a Home Energy Check form, either online, by telephone or with a Home Energy Assessor on your doorstep.

How the scheme can help

If your home is suitable, you will be offered cavity wall and loft insulation at a specially negotiated price* or even free of charge** to certain eligible householders.

You could also be offered loft top-up insulation free of charge if you already have between 60mm and 160mm, irrespective of the size of your loft.

And if you need additional support to install insulation, for example your loft cleared or scaffolding, we may be able to help.

*Conditions apply. Trained advisors can discuss the full qualifying conditions with you.
**Private tenants and homeowners who get certain allowances are eligible to receive home insulation free of charge. Trained advisors can discuss the full qualifying conditions with you.
