Carbon Emissions Reduction Target Extension
March 2010
The Energy Saving Trust submitted a response to DECC’s consultation on Extending the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target, addressing the scope for an increase in the scale of ambition above pro rata levels. The Energy Saving Trust supports the removal of CFLs, the introduction of a minimum efficiency level and the introduction of the Super Priority Group. Additional monitoring and research is needed to improve confidence in savings from DIY loft insulation. We also support the proposal to use Energy Saving Recommended standards for products not covered by European standards, including water saving devices.
