B&Q is leading a Pay As You Save (PAYS) trial in partnership with the London Borough of Sutton and sustainability experts, BioRegional.
The PAYS scheme will enable 100 homeowners within the Sutton Borough to reduce energy bills, lower carbon emissions and create a more comfortable living environment by having energy efficient measures and technologies installed by B&Q at their property. The funding will include a 40% free subsidy and a 60% interest free loan.
Home owners will be expertly managed throughout the energy efficiency process, including clear recommendations, lifestyle advice and clear product usage information. By the end of March B&Q will also be trialling its first eco shop within its busy Sutton store meaning that for the first time visitors to the store will be able to find all the company’s eco products in one place. The company is also appointing a trained eco advisor for the store to provide help and advice to any customers seeking to make eco improvements to their home.
